Usage Terms and Conditions
These TERMS & CONDITIONS are applicable to all external organisations (or users) wishing to use the church halls.
Please ensure that you read this document carefully before making a booking.
All organisations requesting use of the halls must be approved by the Kirk Session of First Presbyterian Church Bangor prior to use. The approval will be for both the organisation and the event. Subsequent approval may be required for the same organisation requesting use of halls for a different event.
The Kirk Session has the absolute right to refuse an organisation or event if they deem it not to be in keeping with the ethos of the Church or for any other reason at their discretion.
First Presbyterian Church Bangor reserves the right to change arrangements at short notice due to the need for special services and functions (e.g. Funeral Services). During such times the carpark must not be used except by ministerial and church staff.
All organisations are responsible for ensuring they have the correct arrangements in place for child protection/vulnerable adults, health & safety, first aid, emergency arrangements and other applicable requirements.
In addition, organisations using the halls will be required to abide by any arrangements First Presbyterian Church Bangor has in place. These include:

The organisation will be required to complete a notification to the Church’s Insurance Company (Oval James) on a form supplied by the Halls Administrator and will also be responsible for making arrangements to insure against any third party claims which may arise whilst using the hall.
Private Party organisers are advised to check their household insurance to ensure that third party liability extends to cover their event
Requests for specific room-setups (with regard to furniture and audio-visual equipment) must be made at the time of booking and agreed by the Halls Administrator.
The organisation must ensure that good order is kept in the halls, car park and grounds and that any area used is left in a clean and tidy condition.
Organisations must agree to abide by the First Presbyterian Church Bangor, Catering Policy.
Catering requests must be made at the time of booking and agreed by the Halls Administrator in association with the Catering Committee Convenor.
Items belonging to the church or other church hall users may only be used with agreement from the Halls Administrator in association with the equipment owner. These arrangements should be agreed at the time of booking.
No animals/pets are permitted in the church or halls with the exception of registered assistance animals (e.g. Guide or Support Dog).
Vehicle space within the grounds is limited.
Organisations involving children are requested NOT to bring cars onto the church premises (in the interest of safety) but to make arrangements for parents to escort their children to the halls using the pedestrian entrance. Arrangements must be agreed with the Halls Administrator in advance of the event.
Ongoing bookings are subject to an annual review to be held with the Halls Administrator in June of each year. First Presbyterian Church Bangor reserves the right to terminate any ongoing arrangement.
Details of any accident or incident occurring which did or could give rise to injury or illness must be reported to the Halls Administrator. This must be done as soon as possible and in all cases within 24 hours.
No advertisements, bills, flags, emblems or other decorations shall be displayed inside or outside the church or halls without the previous written consent of the Halls Administrator.
No bolts/nails/tacks/screws/pins/etc. shall be driven into any part of the hall nor shall any placards or other articles be affixed to the structure.
The organisation is responsible for all damage done to the premises during the period of use. All damage and breakages must be reported to the Halls Administrator and the First Presbyterian Church Bangor reserve the right to seek financial compensation.
Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on the premises or grounds.
Foul and abusive language and behaviour are prohibited on the premises or grounds.
A contribution towards the cost of maintaining the halls is requested. Details can be discussed at the time of booking
The church does not accept responsibility or liability for the loss or damage to personal effects belonging to anyone using the halls and vehicles & contents are left on the premises at the owner’s risk.
